On 29 November the foundation stone will be laid for India’s first monorail project in Mumbai, The Times of India has reported. The 19.5km rail network will connect south Mumbai to the eastern suburbs, and is expected to be completed by May 2011.
India’s Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, is expected to lay the foundation stone, the report said.
