New bridge for Phuket

Posted on Tuesday 6 October 2009

A 300-million baht (US$9 million) investment will be made in building a new bridge across the 300 metre waterway separating Phuket and the Thai mainland. The existing old bridge will also be raised 10 metres giving yacht clearance beneath it. Construction work began last month and is expected to be ready for traffic in August 2011.
