(Hong Kong, 18 October 2009) A collection of cable cars from around the world are now on display at Ngong Ping Village as part of the International Cable Car Gallery organised by Ngong Ping 360. The cable cars, from six overseas tourist destinations, give visitors a glimpse into cable car technology from the past.
“As one of Hong Kong’s key tourist attractions, Ngong Ping 360 continuously seeks new ways to bring memorable experiences to visitors,” said Managing Director of Ngong Ping 360 Mr YT Li. “With a stunning green backdrop, the International Cable Car Gallery can take visitors on an international journey back in time to experience cable cars of the past.”
The six cable cars on display are from Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Mainland China. These cable cars were built from 10 to 40 years ago and have been refurbished and decorated with the pattern of their country’s national flag.
“These are beautifully-designed cable cars that visitors will not want to miss,” added Mr Li. “In fact, two more will arrive at Ngong Ping Village in December from Austria and Switzerland.”
The International Cable Car Gallery will be open to visitors free-of-charge during regular service hours of Ngong Ping 360, allowing visitors to appreciate the interesting outlook and design of these cable cars as well as to take memorable photos.
