Tokyo rail firm to install anti-groping cameras

A railway company in Japan is planning to install special cameras on its Tokyo commuter trains to help solve the problem of groping on public transport. According to a BBC report, the cameras are to be introduced on the Saikyo line. Japanese police receive approximately 2,000 complaints of groping every year, the report said

Smoking ban for Tokyo rail stations

Around 200 railways stations in and around Tokyo completely banned smoking this week, with all ashtrays having been removed from platforms.The Japan Times reported that the ban was imposed at all stations within a 50km radius of Tokyo Station, including in Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama and Ibaraki prefectures.
