The Merlion statue in Sentosa is undergoing a massive cleaning operation in preparation of a tourism boom on Singapore’s holiday island. According to a Channel NewsAsia report, the 37-metre tall statue will take 240 hours clean, as it prepares for an influx of photo-snapping tourists visiting the new Resorts World development.

The operator of Ragunan Zoo in Jakarta is targeting between 3.5 million and 4 million visitors this year, the Jakarta Post has reported.
